On Sunday, February 26, 11:45 am – 3:00 pm, we’ll be taking a field trip to the IllinoisHolocaust Museum to see the Smithsonian Institution traveling exhibition highlighting the history of The Green Book, the annual guide created by Harlem postman Victor Green, that provided African American travelers with information on restaurants, gas stations, department stores and other businesses that welcomed
Black travelers during the Jim Crow era. We will gather for a light lunch at the
church and then travel to the museum for a docent-guided tour of the exhibit. You will also have access to other museum exhibits. Sign ups will begin in January. Cost for lunch and museum is $15. Contact: Michele Holifield
