On World Communion Sunday, October 1, we will receive the Peace and Global Witness Offering. We celebrate on World Communion Sunday that all creation is connected. Through our participation in the Peace and Global Witness Offering, we extend Christ’s peace throughout our community and the world. Extending the peace of Christ throughout the world is part of our call to an active and engaged faith.
Our congregation retains 25% of the offering to be used in our community. This year ,the Mission Committee will commit our portion to support Chalice House. First Pres is currently a community partner with Chalice House, a ministry working with Interfaith Community for Detained Immigrants to provide housing for families seeking asylum. You can contribute to the Peace and Global Witness Offering online or at church, with envelopes available in the pew racks.
